Katy Perry
Katy Perry (born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Born in Santa Barbara, California, and raised by Christian pastorparents, Perry grew up listening to only gospel music and sang in her local church as a child. After earning a GED during her freshman year of high school, she began to pursue a career in music. As Katy Hudson, she released a self-titled gospel album in 2001, which was unsuccessful. She later recorded an album with production team The Matrix and completed the majority of a solo album from 2004–5, neither of which were released.
After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, her fourth record label in seven years, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry and released her first Internet single "Ur So Gay" that November, which garnered public attention but failed to chart. She rose to fame with the release of her second single "I Kissed a Girl" in 2008, which went on to top international charts. Perry's first mainstream studio album One of the Boys followed later that year and subsequently, became the thirty third-best selling album worldwide of 2008. It was accredited platinumcertification by the Recording Industry Association of America, while "I Kissed a Girl" and her second single "Hot n Cold" both received multi-platinum certifications. Her sophomore studio album Teenage Dream was released in August 2010 and debuted at number one on theBillboard 200. The album included hit singles "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework" and "E.T." , all of which topped the charts on the Billboard Hot 100, making the Teenage Dreamalbum one of only nine albums to ever produce four or more Hot 100 number ones. With "E.T." at number one on the chart of May 12, 2011, Perry became the first artist in history to spend a whole year, 52 consecutive weeks, in the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100.(wikipedia)

Buildex Pagales and DJP Trio of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 (PGT Season 2) Grand Finalists (May 29, 2011)
The singing trio known as DJP Trio got the highest text votes in the Week 5 of PGT Season 2's semi final round held May 29, 2011 at PAGCOR, Paranaque. DJP Trio of Negros Occidental got 47.36% of total votes, almost half of the combined total number of votes. The group looked elegantly stunning as they perform their own version and style of Beyonce's "One Night Only"
As what the resident judges said during the PGT Season 2 semi finals performance night, the week 5 group, so far is the best group.
Buildex Pagales, the "Bruno Mars lookalike" who sang "I think I wanna marry you" ranked second with 26.99% of votes and happened to be the judges' choice got it to the grand finals.
Buildex Pagales and DJP Trio will be the new addition to the Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2's pool of grand finalists. Who will be the lucky winner? Let's all find out.
Meanwhile, here is the overall list of week 5's PGT Season 2 semi finalists and their corresponding text votes percentage:

Beyonce Performance New Song On American Ido
Beyoncé showed a different side to her power pop sound with a soulful new single. She sang it publicly for the first time on American Idol. The song, “1+1,” off her new album, simply titled “4,” is about vulnerability and enduring love.
The song reflects more of her R&B roots in keeping with the general theme of her new album.
Beyoncé said she is hoping to take her music in a new direction with the album and cites as influence such acts as Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti.

Matt Evans involved in Car Accident (Photos)
After the horrific accident and death happened last April 16, 2011 to one of the young male talents of Star Magic, AJ Perez, another Star Magic male talent was involved in a car accident.
Matt Evans reportedly crashed his Toyota Innova SUV over the Meralco lamp post after avoiding to hit a woman crossing the road at one of the streets in Brgy. Milagrosa, Project 4, Quezon City.
Thess Gubi, Star Magic PR head said that Matt is in good condition and currently taking a rest at their home. Matt's car accident survival, according to Thess Gubi is a miracle. As quoted from her statements taken from ABS-CBN, she said:
"Kasi after ng aksidente, kapag nakita mo 'yung sasakyan niya, hindi mo aakalain na magiging ok siya. Ang tindi ng impact!"

Riza Santos Ex - PBB Housemate is Miss World Canada 2011 (Pictures)
The ex-Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate was hailed as Miss World Canada 2011 which was reportedly held at Richmond, British Columbia on May 19, 2011. Though she did not make it big at the season 2 of PBB Celebrity Edition in the Philippines, Riza proved her stance and glamor in beauty pageant in her other half. According to reports, Riza also got the Miss Photogenic and Miss Fontana awards in the aforementioned pageant.
Riza, a Filipino-Canadian citizen will be one of the contestants in Miss World 2011 which will be held in London this November 2011.

Esperanza Remake to be topbilled by Kathryn Bernardo?
Mara Clara Remake of ABS-CBN which gained overwhelming nationwide TV ratings during its peak will have its finale episode on June 3, 2011.
What will be in store for Kathryn Bernardo? Kathryn was one of the lead stars of Mara Clara.
PEP reported that Kathryn Bernardo is one of the considerations in the upcoming new teleserye remake of Eszperanza, a soap originally portrayed by Judy Ann Santos way back years.
As quoted from an interview, Kathryn said:
"Kung sakaling ibigay po sa akin ang Esperanza, sobrang laking project po nun lalo. Wow! Siyempre, sobrang saya ko po kung makukuha ko po ang role na yun"

Typhoon update as of 5:00 PM, May 25, 2011: The typhoon Chedeng (with the international codename Songda) has accelerated as it maintained its strength, PAGASA reported. Chedeng has a maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kilometer per hour.
Chedeng is 310 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar or 12.8°N and 127.7°E.
As of 5:00 PM today, signal number 2 with winds of 61 to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) was raised to the following provinces (Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte) while signal number 1 with 45 to 60 kph was recorded to Marinduque, Masbate, Burias, Ticao Islands, Quezon, Polilio Island and Aurora.
The next weather update for the Typhoon Chedeng will be released at 11:00 PM today.

"Bagyong Chedeng" or the tropical storm Chedeng maintained its intensity and continuously slowing down as it is currently 20 kilometers East of Catarman, Northern Samar.
"Chedeng" has intensified into a typhoon as it remained almost stationary.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) current weather update as of 11 AM Wednesday May 25, 2011, Typhoon Chedeng has maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.
As of Thursday morning, Chedeng is reported to be at 160 km East of Virac, Catanduanes, on Friday morning, records shown that it was 120 km Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora while on Saturday morning, it was 40 km Northeast of Aparri, Cagayan.
Signal warnings were raised by PAGASA to these provinces:
Signal No. 2 with 60-100 kilometers per hour winds
Catanduanes
Sorsogon
Albay
Camarines Sur
Camarines Norte
Signal No. 1 (45-60 kilometers per hour winds
Marinduque
Masbate
Burias Island

Those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.
TS "Chedeng" is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon and will bring rains over Visayas and Mindanao.
