June 13, 2011 Holiday in the Philippines or not? - Independence Day

The official government proclamation is typically released month or weeks before the scheduled holiday. Employees and students from public to private sectors are asking if the Independence Day dated June 12, 2011 holiday will be transferred to June 13, 2011.

Is June 13, 2011 holiday in the Philippines? As of now, the current administration is not yet giving any details about this. No proclamations or announcement yet from the Malacanang Palace.

It was remembered that most of the employees are also expecting May 2, 2011 (Monday), labor day as holiday instead of May 1, 2011 (Sunday). However, Pnoy's government said that it should be celebrated on the date.

If these two consecutive holidays are celebrated on their original dates, what can you say to the Proclamation No. 154 declaring June 20, 2011 (Monday) as special non-working holiday instead of June 19, 2011 (Sunday)? June 19, 2011 is a celebration of the 150th birthday of Jose Rizal, national hero.

Meanwhile, here is the official list of holidays in the year 2011.
