Are Classes Suspended on June 24, 2011 (Friday) in College (Metro Manila)?

Parents and students of colleges and universities in Metro Manila are asking if classes on June 24, 2011 (Friday) will be suspended.

Earlier tonight, the Department of Education suspended the pre-school, elementary and high school classes tomorrow (June 24, 2011) in all areas of Metro Manila due to the floods and heavy rains brought about by the current typhooon "Falcon".

Meanwhile, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) said that the suspension or cancellation of classes in tertiary or college levels are dependent on the University and college officials.

Reports said that CHED Executive Director Jovito Vitriolio said,

"Pinauubaya namin sa heads ng higher educational institution ang decision para suspindihin ang klase. Kung tingin nila kailangang kailangan dahil impassable ang roads, nasa kanila yan"
