Hayden Kho's Medical License Cancelled or Revoked by PRC
Hayden Kho's medical license was cancelled by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). This is after they found out that Hayden was guilty of ethical misconduct being involved in the malicious scandal with Katrina Halili.
According to reports, Hayden will appeal on the commission to reinstate his revoked medical license since the scandal is far from his medical profession. On the other hand, Katrina was very satisfied with the PRC's decision

July 2011 Nursing Passers Reactions on 'No Mass Oathtaking' this Year
Some of the board exam passers of the July 2011 Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE) went hot-tempered after learning that this year's oathtaking ceremony will not be held in 'mass', unlike those of the previous passers.
A memo was posted by the Board of Nursing that instead of mass oathtaking, they can have their oath along with their registration in respective PRC regional offices. According to them, this is due to the current socio-economic situations facing their families and job scarcity facing the Filipino nurses. Read the full message here.
These statements was supported by Marco Antonio C. Sto. Tomas (one of the Board of Nursing members). He said,
"Consider this as an advisory also to all newly passed nurses. While it would certainly be my/our pleasure to see everyone in a "mass oathtaking ceremony" practical measures need be taken especially during these "trying times of economic difficulty". Individual or group oathtaking can be undertaken through the various PRC Regional Offices on same schedule of registration."
In a poll created by "PRC Board Examination Results fan page", majority of the board exam passers disagreed on the 'no mass oathtaking' rule.
Quoted from their comments,

Quoted from their comments,
- Jacky Estrada
In favor ako sa pag minimize ng gastosin. let's be frank, its money wasted na pwede naman ma-save. punta na lang tayo sa prc na kasama mga parents at dun mag-oath tapos picture ng konti then dinner sa restaurant. oh di ba? ganun din un - Joe Tadlas
we understand what the BON said..but we cant bring our parents along while taking our oath at the pRC offices..can' t you blame us..we still want to see our parents more happy when we have our oath..if you dont have any good thing to say, can you please just shot your mouth..you exprienced to do your oath taking with your parents arround you..we just want to have a MASS OATH TAKING so that our parents know that we are very serious with our chosen profession and to know that they deserve all the sacrifices that they made for us.. - Eljhay Misola
Doesn't the news say that you will still have your oath? but not just in a fancy way like being held in SMX? still as i said, an oath is an oath wherever it is taken. what's important is you've taken that pledge even if its not done in a gregarious way. maybe you have taken the word "no mass oathtaking" so loosely that's why you all get mad. read the news carefully in order for you guys to just be thankful you have passed that hard test and soon have that pledge done at last. god bless you all :) - Rocel Bande

Christopher Lao on his Floating Car in Flood Issues (Video)
Christopher Lao's name has recently trended in news and social networking sites. This is after he drove his car in flood "unknowingly" so it floated. Former UP Dean of Law, Marvic Leonen already gave her statements regarding the incident. As quoted, she said:
Howie Severino, Editor-in-Chief of GMA News online also aired his side regarding the issue. In a GMA news article, as quoted,

Former UP Dean of Law, Marvic Leonen already gave her statements regarding the incident. As quoted, she said:
"You may be amused by the mistakes or misfortunes of others. But this does not entitle you to degrade their entire character or make conclusions about their whole person. Christopher Lao does not deserve the treatment he is getting from others on Facebook and Twitter. And yes, he is from UP College of Law and we are still proud of him"
Howie Severino, Editor-in-Chief of GMA News online also aired his side regarding the issue. In a GMA news article, as quoted,
"Mr. Lao was already victimized by the flood and a lack of warnings. He shouldn't be victimized again. Many of us could have been in his situation. We are urging the public to stop the insults. We regret that our video, which was meant to provide a lesson for all motorists, was used in any way to make fun of another person."Christopher Lao already gave his official statement regarding the issue, he said:
"The past few days have been very disheartening for me and my family. As you know I have been a subject of a viral video that showed my helplessness during a trying moment. As it stands right now, I have several hate pages in Facebook and Twitter with hurtful and derogatory messages attacking my person. The reputation that I built the past years has been besmirched. A bad day has now turned into wounded feelings and sleepless nights for me and my family.
I have been silent the past few days as I want this to go away soon but not before saying sorry and thank you to people who matter.
I would like to apologize for my behavior that was seen on nationwide television and now on the internet. It was unfortunate that I was caught on camera immediately after an overwhelmingly stressful mishap.
I would like to again sincerely thank those who braved the flood to help a distraught stranger like me. Their selfless act reminded me of how dependable Filipinos are in times of crisis.
Lastly, I would like to thank my family, friends and all of those who showed empathy, consideration and support throughout these trying times. You have given me strength and courage to rise above and be a better person."

CHED - Trending Topic in Twitter after Class Suspension (Netizen Reactions)
The word CHED (Commission on Higher Education) is currently trending in Twitter. It was earlier mentioned that CHED has a memorandum order which includes the guidelines of class suspension. (Read the guidelines here)
Here are some of netizen reactions:
"Salamat naman CLASSES SUSPENDED! Ayaw ko na ulit mabasa at Mastranded sa Baha! Salamat Sa #ched" - Christine Gubat
"if hindi na #ched ang nag dedeclare ng suspension as per the memo, bakit inaantay pa ng universities at colleges ang kanilang announcement" - Raymund D
"anyway, #ched has a point in the reiteration of their circulated memo, kids ignorant enough of the existing memo should just shut up since it was issued last 2010. They shouldn't blame #ched for passing the decision over the school heads. Nang dahil sa typhoon." - ClongClong
"If #ched keeps on leaving the suspension to the universities, it might as well not have the authority to make a decision at all" - Bea Padilla

John Gabriel Pelias - UP Summa Cum Laude, Math Wizard's Biography and Photos
After several decades, UP student through John Gabriel Pelias proved that poverty is not a hindrance to success and making history. Pelias will be graduating on April 17, 2011 at the most prestigious Philippine University with the highest latin honors - Summa Cum Laude. Reports said that Gabriel obtained a general weighted average of 1.016, the second highest average in the history of UP; next to Exequiel Sevilla - Commerce graduate in the year 1927.
John Gabriel Pelias, a BS Mathematics student was set to deliver the valedictory speech in front of his co-graduates on Sunday.
As stated in his Facebook biography, he strongly believed on Bertrand Russell's quote saying that, “Mathematics may be defined as the subject where we never know what we are talking about, nor whether what we are saying is true.”
He is a fan of Beyonce and Chopins music, loves to write stories and read books. Gabriel likes anime series like Shakugan, Negima, Spongebob and the like which is very evident in his profile picture.
Perhaps, one of the reasons why Pelias obtained this status was, "he is single". (author's opinion)
